Dr Alok Sharma Neurosurgeon, Neuroscientist and Professor, is presently the Director of NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute in Mumbai, India. This world renowned Indian Neurosurgeon, is also the Professor & Head of Department of Neurosurgery at LokmanyaTilak Municipal General Hospital &LokmanyaTilak Municipal Medical College, more commonly known as Sion Hospital, Mumbai. He is also a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Fortis Hospital, Mumbai, and he is the President of Stem Cell Society (India) and Vice President, International Association of Neurorestoratology (IANR). Born on June 27, 1961, in India, with an experience of almost 3 decades as a surgeon, Dr AlokKundanlal Sharma brings with him extensive surgical expertise & experience in the areas of Neurosurgery, Neuroscience and Stem cells.


As an Indian Neurosurgeon, Dr Alok Sharma is best known for his contribution to the field of regenerative medicine. Dr Alok Sharma has obtained his MBBS, M.S. and M.Ch. from the Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital of Mumbai University. Subsequently, he did fellowships in two departments that were pioneers of neural transplantation. In 1995, he did his Fellowship in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and Gamma Knife Therapy at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden, and in 1998, he did another Fellowship in Neurotransplantation at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, USA.
